Balancing between Summer & Fall

After a month of September filled with spectacular sunsets, we’re now enjoying a wonderful Indian summer here in Lisbon. The days are shorter since the autumn equinox last week, the air is slightly crisper in the morning but days are still filled with light and warmth. This is probably my favorite micro-season: we can still enjoy the ocean without a thick wetsuit yet we can start wearing cozy sweaters.

We are fully settled in our new apartment and I simply love it. I’m starting to feel at home in Portugal, almost 2 years after arriving here. Sometimes all it takes is a homey home to feel good about a place.

NEWS FROM THE STUDIO

NEW CLASS !

In collaboration with Mrs Lemon, a really cute yoga studio & café in Ajuda, we launched a new pre- & post-natal class similar to the original one that started last year in Campo de Ourique.

I’m excited to bring the unique concept of Baby & Me, pre and postnatal yoga with babies, to this area of Lisbon !

RETREATS

In 2 weeks I’ll be headed back to Villa Epicurea for my 4th retreat there this year with Namastrip. And for the fourth time I cannot wait to meet a new group of curious travellers and guide them for a few days of wellbeing in community.

There will be one more retreat in 2024 (November 7-11), and then many more in 2025 ! Dates will be announced soon.

A FEW THINGS I ENJOYED LATELY

Last weekend, we took a family trip to our favorite museum in the city, the MAAT. Even before stepping inside, the building impresses with its picturesque location by the river and its unique design, by British architect Amanda Levete.

Right now, on view are 2 interesting exhibitions, the first one in the iconic EDP foundation building is a retrospective of French-American photographer William Klein, with lots of great photos from New-York in the 60s.

In the main building, an interactive installation by Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto lets everyone step into the piece and play musical instruments, all linked through a web-like structure made of colorful fabrics. We often complain that Lisbon’s cultural offering is pretty poor compared to other European capitals, so let’s enjoy what we do have !

And a quote, why not. In Italian this time: "Impara l'arte e mettila da parte" or "Learn the art and set it aside."

Lastly, here are a few things I loved in September: this new album from old NYC friends, this article about happiness and also this one about the history of self-care.
